The world has stopped turning and the
Sun has kept on burning and he
Illuminates one side of the world
When the members of the universe
Feel the need of warmth in earnest
They move themselves back into the light
Hey there, sunshine, lift my heart.
For when the darkness has to start
Grab it, heat it, kill it off
And leave my body behind
But something's tainted, something's wrong
For the sun sickens me, its not strong
Enough to blot out the blackness
And when the light begins to fade
I'll have realized that it's too late
For the light to have done anything at all
Hey there, sunshine, hearts to mend
For when the darkness has to end
Grab them, heat them, and kill again
But leave their bodies behind
